Jaswant Singh Rawat : A One Man Army Who Not Only Killed 300 Chinese Soldiers But Saved Arunachal Pradesh From Getting Attacked.

#Early Life:
Born on 19 August 1941 in a small village named Baryun, Pauri Garhwal District, Uttarakhand.
#The Battle Of Nauranang:
17th November 1962, last days of Indo-Sino war, the 4 Garhwal rifles were ordered to retreat their position, but this 22 yr old young Rifleman Stood back and fought alone with the Chinese army for about 72 hours.
Though their intention was clear to capture the Nauranang at any cost and their main aim was to bring the MMG (Medium Machine Gun) at the top of the base camp which was again held towards failure y the Legend Jaswant Singh, though being Injured managed successfully to grab the MMG from the Chinese Soldier.
Though he killed around 300 Chinese soldiers still they manages to get on the top of the base camp but till that time Indian Army got enough time to deploy more troops.
On their return the Chinese soldiers were so irate that they decided to Cut his head and take it with them but were unsuccessful as Indian Army arrived at the spot and took the charge to take upon the Chinese Army.
#Memory:
A Shrine has been made in the memory of great legend namely Jaswant Garh.
Jaswant Singh Rawat is been treated as if he is alive, his shoes are polished , Clothes are washed and even his towel is changes on Day to Day basis.
The soldiers who polish his shoes often claim that they found mud stains on his shoes as if he goes on a round every night protecting that area.
Also he is offered Tea at 05:30, Breakfast at 09:00 and Dinner at 19:00 in his special room.
#Bravery Award:
He was awarded with Mahavir Chakra(posthumously).

The the 4 Garhwal Rifles were awarded with Honour of Battle Nauranang.
